Etta Alberta Petros

Etta Alberta Petros (nee Preast), 81, a long-time resident of Elyria, died Sunday February 8, 2026.  She was born April 28, 1944 in Beckley, WV.  For 36 years, she was a dietician for Wesleyan Village from where she retired.  Alberta enjoyed dancing, the color lavender and she was loved by everyone. 

Alberta is survived by son, Timothy (Susan) Wamsley of Elyria; daughter, Elisha Baran of Parma and granddaughters, Amanda (Thor) Reep, Breona  and Brenna Baran. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 2021; daughter, Tassie Clary and siblings.

Friends will be received Friday, February 13, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of a 12:00 pm service at Dicken, Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Chuck Behrens officiating.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
